How can Embankment work to help your organisation?

The Embankment approach is based on the principle of client-led capacity-building
Our ultimate aim is to up-skill our clients as partners to the extent where they are capable, equipped and confident to take forward their diversity vision without our direct intervention
We are always available to provide ad hoc support or review progress at any stage in an ongoing relationship but we will not “push” our services – we prefer to be “pulled” when a client needs our support or advice
Our methodology is to work closely with clients to harmonise the internal and external perspectives on the client’s issues at all times
Constant communication, honesty and openness are key to our partnership model
Unless specifically desired by the client, our consultants always work jointly with representatives from Human Resources or Learning & Development experts, line diversity champions, senior managers and the Board in delivering services where these involve direct contact with client employees.

This approach has key benefits to the client

In-house professionals are automatically up-skilled in diversity knowledge and expertise through exposure to the consultancy process;
There is less risk of dependency on the consultant – as the competence and confidence of in-house professionals grows through this exposure, there is increasingly less reliance on the consultancy service.

We adopt this model because it works. Some organisations may be looking for a different service where they simply hand over the whole project to the consultant as a sub-contractor to run the diversity programme. Embankment Associates would not be suitable for a relationship like this and we make clear to all our clients our expectations regarding the partnership principle on which we are founded.
